A RACI template you can fill in right here
A RACI chart template is a table with tasks down the side, people or roles across the top, and one of four letters in each cell: Responsible, Accountable, Consulted or Informed. The templates on this page already hold typical roles and tasks, so you only change what does not fit your team. The chart checks itself as you work. It warns when a task has no Accountable owner, has more than one, or has nobody Responsible. That is the part spreadsheet templates leave to you. Everything runs in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, there is no account, and the chart is saved on this device so you can come back to it.
Which template to start from
Project covers a general delivery with a sponsor, a project manager and a team. Marketing campaign adds roles such as designer and content writer. Software release lists engineering, QA and operations roles. Event covers planning, promotion and the day itself. All four can be edited freely, so pick the closest and change the rest.
Rules that keep a RACI chart useful
Give every task exactly one A. Keep at least one R per task. Use C sparingly, because every Consulted person adds a conversation. Mark I only for people who really need to hear the result. A row full of Cs and Is usually means the task is too big and should be split.
Using the Excel file
The download is a plain .xlsx file with the title, roles and tasks in separate cells, so you can add columns, colours or formulas in Excel or any spreadsheet program, or paste it into a document or slide.
